Misty Rocky Mountains"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled… Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." Matthew 5:6, 10 (KJV)
"Don't pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults - unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It's easy to see a smudge on your neighbor's face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, 'Let me wash your face for you,' when your own face is distorted by contempt? It's this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor." Matthew 7:1-5 (The Message)
"Everyone therefore who acknowledges Me before others, I also will acknowledge before My Father in Heaven; but whoever denies Me before others, I also will deny before My Father in Heaven…

"It is like a man, traveling to another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, and to each one his work, and also commanded the doorkeeper to keep watch.
"Watch therefore, for you don't know when the lord of the house is coming, whether at evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning; lest coming suddenly he might find you sleeping. What I tell you, I tell all: Watch."
Mark 13:31-37 (WEB)
And His compassion is, generation after generation, upon those who fear Him. He has manifested His supreme strength. He has scattered those who were haughty in the thoughts of their hearts. He has cast monarchs down from their thrones, And exalted men of low estate. The hungry He has satisfied with choice gifts, But the rich He has sent empty-handed away. Luke 1:50-53 (WNT)
"One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much." Luke 16:10 (ESV)

SequoiaIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… The Word came in the flesh, and lived for a time in our midst, so that we saw His glory--the glory as of the Father's only Son, sent from His presence. He was full of grace and truth… For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:1, 14, 17 (WNT)
"He who trusts in Him does not come up for judgment. He who does not trust has already received sentence, because he has not his trust resting on the name of God's only Son. And this is the test by which men are judged--the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness more than they loved the Light, because their deeds were wicked. For every wrongdoer hates the light, and does not come to the light, for fear his actions should be exposed and condemned. But he who does what is honest and right comes to the light, in order that his actions may be plainly shown to have been done in God." John 3:18-21 (WNT)
He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true. John 3:33 (NKJV)

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, "If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:31-32 (KJV)
Jesus said to them, "If God was your Father you would have love for Me, because it was from God I came and am here. I did not come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why are My words not clear to you? It is because your ears are shut to My teaching. You are the children of your father the Evil One and it is your pleasure to do his desires. From the first he was a taker of life; and he did not go in the true way because there is no true thing in him. When he says what is false, it is natural to him, for he is false and the father of what is false. But because I say what is true, you have no belief in Me.
"Which of you is able truly to say that I am a sinner? If I say what is true, why have you no belief in Me? He who is a child of God gives ear to the words of God: your ears are not open to them because you are not from God."
John 8:42-47 (BBE)
"Yet a little while," He replied, "the light is among you. Be faithful to the light that you have, for fear darkness should overtake you; for a man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going. In the degree that you have light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light." John 12:35-36 (WNT)
Jesus saith unto him, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me." John 14:6 (KJV)
"When, however, the Spirit comes, who reveals the truth about God, He will lead you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own authority, but He will speak of what He hears and will tell you of things to come. He will give Me glory, because He will take what I say and tell it to you." John 16:13-14 (GNT)
"Sanctify them in Your truth. Your Word is truth." John 17:17 (WEB)
"So then You are a king!" rejoined Pilate.
"Yes," said Jesus, "you say truly that I am a king. For this purpose I was born, and for this purpose I have come into the world--to give testimony for the truth. Every one who is a friend of the truth listens to My voice." John 18:37 (WNT)

Tioga PassYou have certainly heard His message and have been taught His ways. The truth is in Jesus. You were taught to change the way you were living. There was a time when you were nothing but darkness. Now, as Christians, you are Light itself. Ephesians 5:8 (WNT)
Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 (NRSV)
Do not speak falsehoods to one another, for you have stripped off the old self with its doings, and have clothed yourselves with the new self which is being remolded into full knowledge so as to become like Him who created it. Colossians 3:9-10 (WNT)
And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the Word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the Word of God, which is at work in you believers. 1 Thessalonians 2:13 (ESV)

Concentrate on doing your best for God, work you won't be ashamed of, laying out the truth plain and simple. Stay clear of pious talk that is only talk. Words are not mere words, you know. If they're not backed by a godly life, they accumulate as poison in the soul. 2 Timothy 2:15-17 (The Message)
Keep a strong curb, however, on your youthful cravings; and strive for integrity, good faith, love, peace, in company with all who pray to the Lord with pure hearts. 2 Timothy 2:22 (WNT)
In the same way exhort the younger men to be discreet, and above all make your own life a pattern of right conduct, having in your teaching no taint of insincerity, but a serious tone, and healthy language which no one can censure, so that our opponents may feel ashamed at having nothing evil to say against us. Titus 2:6-8 (WNT)
Pink California Ice PlantPeople always use the name of someone greater than themselves when they swear. The oath proves that what they say is true, and this ends all arguing. God wanted to prove that His promise was true to those who would get what He promised. And He wanted them to understand clearly that His purposes never change, so He made an oath. These two things cannot change: God cannot lie when He makes a promise, and He cannot lie when He makes an oath. These things encourage us who came to God for safety. They give us strength to hold on to the hope we have been given. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and strong. It enters behind the curtain in the Most Holy Place in Heaven, where Jesus has gone ahead of us and for us. He has become the High Priest forever, a priest like Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:16-20 (NCV™)  [I don't know if anyone really knows for sure the identity of Melchizedek. Some say he was actually Shem, one of Noah's sons. Others say he had no father nor mother, there was no record of any of his ancestors, he had neither any end of days nor beginning of life, in other words he was immortal, and that his life was like the Son of God. The name Melchizedek means King of Righteousness, and the only One who can be legitimately called that is Jesus. Perhaps Melchizedek was Jesus making an earthly appearance before His incarnation.]
For judgment will be without mercy to anyone who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment. James 2:13 (NRSV)
The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 3:18 (NKJV)
Since you know that He cares, let your language show it. Don't add words like "I swear to God" to your own words. Don't show your impatience by concocting oaths to hurry up God. Just say yes or no. Just say what is true. That way, your language can't be used against you. James 5:12 (The Message)
He who wishes to be well-satisfied with life and see happy days--let him restrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from deceitful words. 1 Peter 3:10 (WNT)
Even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. 1 Peter 3:14 (WEB)
If we claim to be already free from sin, we lead ourselves astray and the truth has no place in our hearts. If we confess our sins, He is so faithful and just that He forgives us our sins and cleanses us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8-9 (WNT)
Since you know that He is righteous, be assured also that the man who habitually acts righteously is a child of His. 1 John 2:29 (WNT)
Dear children, let no one lead you astray. The man who acts righteously is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who is habitually guilty of sin is a child of the Devil, because the Devil has been a sinner from the very beginning. The Son of God appeared for the purpose of undoing the work of the Devil. 1 John 3:7-8 (WNT)
