Psalms 143:3-6 (NCV™)

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7 (KJV)

Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me. Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the Lord, They would have none of my counsel And despised my every rebuke. Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, And be filled to the full with their own fancies. For the turning away of the simple will slay them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them; But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil. "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand… For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'" Isaiah 41:10, 13 (NKJV)

The Lord who created you says, "Do not be afraid—I will save you. I have called you by name—you are Mine. When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you. When you pass through fire, you will not be burned; the hard trials that come will not hurt you." Isaiah 43:1-2 (GNT)

"I, even I, am the One who comforts you. So why are you afraid of mere humans, who wither like the grass and disappear? Yet you have forgotten the LORD, your Creator, the One who put the stars in the sky and established the earth. Will you remain in constant dread of human oppression? Will you continue to fear the anger of your enemies from morning till night?" Isaiah 51:12-13 (NLT)

"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?" Matthew 6:25-27 (ESV)

"Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather be afraid of God, who can destroy both body and soul in hell. For only a penny you can buy two sparrows, yet not one sparrow falls to the ground without your Father's consent. As for you, even the hairs of your head have all been counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth much more than many sparrows!" Matthew 10:28-31 (GNT)

"Then will He say to those at His left, 'Begone from Me, with the curse resting upon you, into the Fire of the Ages, which has been prepared for the Devil and his angels.'" Matthew 25:41 (WNT)

The same day, in the evening, He said to them,
"Let us cross to the other side."
So they got away from the crowd, and took Him--as He was--in the boat; and other boats accompanied Him. But a heavy squall came on, and the waves were now dashing into the boat, so that it was fast filling. But He Himself was in the stern asleep, with His head on the cushion: so they woke Him. "Rabbi," they cried, "is it nothing to You that we are drowning?"
So He roused Himself and rebuked the wind, and said to the waves,
"Silence! Be still!" The wind sank, and a perfect calm set in.

"Why are you so timid?" He asked; "have you still no faith?"
Then they were filled with terror, and began to say to one another, "Who is this, then? For even wind and sea obey Him." Mark 4:35-41 (WNT)

[Jesus’ response below refers to what He told the Warden upon hearing the news that the latter’s daughter had died. See Mark 5:35-43]
Jesus, overhearing the words, said to the Warden, "Do not be afraid; only have faith." Mark 5:36 (WNT)

You haven't received the spirit of slaves that leads you into fear again. Instead, you have received the spirit of God's adopted children by which we call out, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Romans 8:15-16 (GOD’S WORD®)

For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from His love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels won't, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God's love away. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, or where we are—high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean—nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when He died for us. Romans 8:37-39 (TLB)

Don't be afraid of your enemies; always be courageous, and this will prove to them that they will lose and that you will win, because it is God who gives you the victory. Philippians 1:28 (GNT)

Have no cares; but in everything with prayer and praise put your requests before God. And the peace of God, which is deeper than all knowledge, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (BBE)

I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 (WEB)

God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and discipline. Don't be ashamed therefore of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me, His prisoner; but suffer hardship with the Gospel according to the power of God, who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before times eternal. 2 Timothy 1:7-9 (WEB)

Canadian LakeOur High Priest is able to understand our weaknesses. When He lived on earth, He was tempted in every way that we are, but He did not sin. Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God's throne where there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it. Hebrews 4:15-16 (NCV™)

To those who were to receive what He promised, God wanted to make it very clear that He would never change His purpose; so He added His vow to the promise. There are these two things, then, that cannot change and about which God cannot lie. So we who have found safety with Him are greatly encouraged to hold firmly to the hope placed before us. We have this hope as an anchor for our lives. It is safe and sure, and goes through the curtain of the heavenly temple into the inner sanctuary. On our behalf Jesus has gone in there before us and has become a High Priest forever. Hebrews 6:17-20 (GNT)

Your lives should be untainted by love for money. Be content with what you have; for God Himself has said, "I will never, never let go your hand: I will never, never forsake you." So that we fearlessly say, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid: what can man do to me?" Hebrews 13:5-6 (WNT)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8 (WEB)

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. Now who is he who will harm you, if you become imitators of that which is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. Don't fear what they fear, neither be troubled. 1 Peter 3:12-14 (WEB)

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 (NRSV)

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us. 1 John 4:18-19 (NKJV)

When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. He laid His right hand on me, and said,
"Don't be afraid! I am the First and the Last, and the Living One. I was dead, but look--I am alive forever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and Hades." Revelation 1:17-18 (HCSB)
